DAVOS, 26 Jan - "Malaysia" berjaya dipasarkan di pentas dunia dan diyakini, itulah yang cuba disampaikan oleh Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak sebaik mengakhiri lawatan kerja ke bandar pelancongan yang menganjurkan Mesyuarat Tahunan Forum Ekonomi Dunia (WEF) 2013.
Berpuas hati dengan hasil kerja keras memasarkan Malaysia sepanjang forum itu berlangsung, Najib berkata beliau yang dibantu tiga orang menteri kanan telah berjaya menyampaikan "kisah Malaysia" kepada sebahagian besar peserta forum kali ini. Dianggarkan lebih 3,000 peserta menghadiri forum berprestij itu.
Mesyuarat Tahunan WEF itu berlangsung selama lima hari sehingga 27 Jan ini.
Hadir sama Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed; Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif, Unit Pengurusan Prestasi dan Pelaksanaan (Pemandu), Datuk Seri Idris Jala; dan Menteri Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi, Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili.
Bercakap kepada wartawan Malaysia, Najib berkata keputusan untuk menyertai WEF secara besar-besaran pada tahun ini dibuat kerana beliau begitu yakin Malaysia sememangnya sarat dengan kejayaan, terutamanya melalui transformasi yang besar, khususnya bidang ekonomi yang menjurus ke arah negara berpendapatan tinggi kurang lapan tahun lagi.
Katanya, Malaysia juga telah berjaya menambah pelaburan, meningkatkan nilai pasaran saham dan menyediakan peluang pekerjaan.
"Kita juga berjaya membendung inflasi, kadar pengangguran yang rendah, kedudukan ranking yang lebih baik oleh World Bank dan IMD. Kejayaan ini, kita dapat persembahkan ketika pertemuan-pertemuan yang diatur sepanjang WEF ini berlangsung," katanya.
Najib turut yakin Malaysia akan menjadi negara berpendapatan tinggi menjelang tahun 2020 dengan pendapatan per kapita lebih AS$15,000 sekiranya kadar pertumbuhan negara mencecah lima peratus setiap tahun.
Katanya, pendapatan per kapita telahpun melonjak kepada AS$9,750 pada akhir tahun lepas daripada AS$6,700 empat tahun lalu.
"Ini semua menjadi satu pakej yang kita akan paparkan kepada komuniti antarabangsa di Davos dan tidak ada platform yang lebih besar dan lebih strategik daripada WEF," katanya.
Perdana Menteri berkata Malam Malaysia, iaitu kemuncak penyertaan negara di WEF ini telah mendapat sambutan yang menggalakkan dengan kehadiran lebih 1,000 orang, melebihi jangkaan 400 orang.
"Dalam keadaan yang muram, ekonomi dunia terutamanya di Eropah dan Amerika Syarikat, Malaysia merupakan antara beberapa tempat di mana mereka melihat sinaran kejayaan kita dalam menguruskan ekonomi negara dan membawa pembaharuan ataupun transformasi yang kita janjikan itu."
Turut hadir di Malam Malaysia itu ialah Timbalan Perdana Menteri Turki, Ali Babacan; Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Kewangan Thailand, Kittiratt Na-Ranong; dan beberapa ketua-ketua eksekutif, dan penggubal keputusan di organisasi masing-masing.
"Apa yang kita cuba tonjolkan pada malam itu hanya bayangan apa yang boleh mereka nikmati, kecapi dan rasai sekiranya mereka melawat Malaysia, apatah lagi jika memilih Malaysia sebagai destinasi pelaburan mereka.
Ditanya sama ada pendekatan sama akan digunakan di masa akan datang, Najib berkata: "Kita akan buat analisa keberkesanan di Davos."
Namun katanya, penyertaan Malaysia di WEF Davos akan dikukuhkan dan ditingkatkan lagi dari masa-masa lalu.
Ditanya sentimen peserta terhadap Malaysia, Perdana Menteri berkata:"Kita merupakan negara yang telah berjaya menguruskan ekonomi dengan baik dan berkesan.
Mereka tertarik kepada peluang yang bakal diperoleh dari Malaysia dan ini adalah berdasarkan kepada beberapa faktor seperti dasar, insentif dan juga respons kita kepada pertanyaan mereka melalui Lembaga Pembangunan Perdagangan Luar Malaysia (MIDA), Kementerian Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri (MITI) dan Majlis Ekonomi".
"Mekanisme kita telah berjaya menambah tahap keyakinan pelabur. Semakin kita yakin, semakin berjaya kita tarik pelaburan."
Semalam, Najib telah mengumumkan potensi pelaburan berjumlah kira-kira RM5.5 bilion ke Malaysia melibatkan tiga buah syarikat asing.
Pertemuan Perdana Menteri dengan wakil tiga syarikat itu diadakan ketika berlangsungnya WEF.

Berita berkaitan cuaca yang dipaparkan dalam Facebook tidak semuanya betul
KUCHING: Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia (JMM) Cawangan Sarawak memberi amaran kepada individu yang tidak bertanggungjawab agar tidak menyebarkan khabar angin berkaitan cuaca.
Timbalan Pengarah JMM Cawangan Sarawak Ambun Dindang menegaskan terdapat portal-portal di laman sesawang termasuk laman sosial Facebook memaparkan berita berkaitan cuaca namun tidak semuanya betul.
Oleh itu, beliau menasihati orang ramai agar tidak mudah percaya kenyataan berita berkaitan cuaca daripada sumber lain selain yang dikeluarkan oleh jabatan berkenaan.
“Jangan mudah percaya khabar angin terutama daripada laman sosial Facebook berkaitan cuaca mahupun tentang ancaman Ribut Tropika Sonamu sebaliknya orang ramai harus merujuk dan memperolehi maklumat yang sahih daripada JMM menerusi laman sesawang kami,” katanya ketika dihubungi semalam.
Beliau berkata demikian ketima diminta mengulas mengenai kenyataan daripada Facebook yang mengatakan Sonamu telah membadai kawasan timur Sarawak.
“Setakat ini tiada kes dilaporkan berkaitan Sonamu dan kami telah menarik balik amaran berjaga-jaga semalam (Khamis) setelah Sonamu menjadi lemah, tidak bergerak dan lenyap,” tambahnya.
Namun, beliau memberitahu bahawa hujan lebat peringkat kuning dan amaran angin kencang masih dikekalkan ekoran monsun.
Sementara itu, Jurucakap Bilik Gerakan JMM berkata, hujan lebat dan angin kencang diramalkan akan melanda beberapa kawasan iaitu di Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Mukah, Betong, Sarikei, Sri Aman, Sibu, Miri dan Bintulu kira-kira selama dua hingga tiga hari.
“Ramalan kami menunjukkan bahawa musim hujan akan berlaku selama seminggu secara keseluruhan dari sekarang hingga minggu depan, penduduk di negeri ini akan mengalami lonjakan monsun dan ribut petir dalam dua tiga hari ini,” katanya.
Menerusi laman sesawang JMM dipetik berkata hujan lebat peringkat kuning dikeluarkan bagi Sarawak, hujan sekejap dan hujan skala sederhana dijangka berterusan di bahagian Kuching, Samarahan, Betong, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah dan Bintulu hingga hari ini (12 Januari).
“Keadaan ini boleh menyebabkan banjir di kawasan yang rendah dan amaran angin kencang Kategori 2 bagi Sarawak dijangka berterusan sehingga esok (13 Januari),” kata JMM.
Sementara itu, Pegawai Bencana Operasi Jabatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (JPAM) Sarawak Leftenan (PA) Shaifu Nizam Ab Rahman berkata, pihaknya kini dalam keadaan siap siaga menghadapi kemungkin banjir.
“Kira-kira 3,500 anggota seluruh Sarawak dalam keadaan bersedia bila-bila masa jika berlakunya banjir dan bilik gerakan di setiap daerah di negeri ini sedia diaktifkan mengikut keperluan,” jelasnya ketika dihubungi semalam.
Tambahnya, JPAM kini menyediakan 24 bot dan lapan lori yang sedia digerakkan jika berlakunya banjir di negeri ini.
Malah, bilik gerakan yang dibuka selama 24 jam di Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu dan Sri Aman turut akan memberi tumpuan kepada sebarang kemungkinan banjir.
“Dari segi logistik pula kami juga telah bersedia dan segala kelengkapan untuk menghadapi banjir sudah kami sediakan dan hanya menunggu masa digerakkan sahaja,” ujarnya.
